Junior Front End Developer, Shopify

Driver Digital is a New York based boutique agency focused on ecommerce user experience, web design and development.  We deliver exceptional creative solutions; equal parts beauty and function.  We service thoughtful brands primarily in the fashion, beauty, home and lifestyle verticals.

The Junior Developer is responsible for implementing and upholding best practices across the agency’s development projects and writing high quality, clean, performance driven code in service of client deliverables.  As an entry level member of the development team, the junior developer plays a key role in supporting the agency’s lead developers in a variety of capacities.

The primary responsibility of the Junior Developer is to work on the agency’s multiple maintenance retainer projects, implementing updates and new features to existing client sites.  Additionally, the junior developer will support lead developers on new client site builds.

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support the build of best in class, responsive web applications for desktop and mobile.
• Implement a variety of development tasks including app installments, page and template updates, new page builds, SEO and ADA development compliance, and QA
• Serve as the primary agency resource for QA and testing.
• Translate Figma designs into code.
• Partner with design and project management troubleshooting roadblocks and ideating functionality and UX solves.
• Stay abreast of changing technologies, platforms, software, applications.

 

Experience + Desired Qualities:

• 1+ year(s) of development experience or in-depth tactile development training and education.
• Knowledge of Shopify, Shopify Plus, API’s and Plugins.
• Proficiency and understanding of HTML 5, CSS3, Javascript.
• Experience with GIT and version control platforms.
• Be coachable, adaptable and eager to learn.

• Ability to work and communicate in a deadline oriented, at times fast paced environment.

Nice To Have:

• Previous work experience in a related environment.
• Experience working with brands in the fashion, beauty home and lifestyle verticals.
